Now available: the exhibition catalogue for Bianca Beck | Eyes featuring poet Dorothea Lasky’s beautiful essay “Eyes, Portals, and The Very Best Day,” which reads Beck’s sculptures and paintings as portals into a shifting, dreamlike world where “love is both eternal and everchanging through states of being.”

The catalogue also features curator Grant Wahlquist’s introduction, situating Beck’s practice within a lineage of Klee, Mitchell, and Haring while exploring themes of kinship and plural selfhood, plus Dana Nielsen Clark’s essay “Windows to the Souls,” which traces the evolutionary and emotional roots of the human face from Triassic ancestors to Beck’s monumental papier-mâché heads.

Full color plates of all twelve works in the exhibition, on view at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art through September 6, 2026.
